Education Program

We work closely with local schools staff to strengthen the level of education through training and logistics assistance. Provide financial aid and school supplies to help more children to go and stay at school.

How HnC Has Helped

Hope and Change for Haiti (HnC) has worked on many successful programs to better education for the impoverished children of Haiti, but there is still much work to be done.

Some of the programs include

  • Elementary student sponsor programs
  • Backpack & school supply distribution
  • Highschool laptop donations
  • “Engage for Change” training and workshops
  •  Goats Project
Below you can find more information on all these wonderful education programs.

Backpack and School Supply Distribution

In August 2018, Hope and Change for Haiti proceeded with the distribution of 150 backpacks and school supply to children in two elementary schools in the municipality of Paillant, Haiti: 1) Ecole Communautaire de Viau, and 2) Ecole Mixte Bon Samaritain de Georges. Children received backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, crayons, rules etc… many other school supplies were given these school administrations. See video below.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to make this possible this year.

We were able to donate 20 laptons to Lycee Antenor Firmin, a public high school located in downtown Port au prince

The Goat Project

One Goat For Education

Since its inception, Hope and Change for Haiti has supported two local elementary schools in rural Haiti, especially in the municipality of Paillant where we provide sponsorship for children, and distribute school supplies. While our supporters have facilitated the sponsorship program, we want to maintain financial sustainability and to contribute to the economic autonomy of the beneficiaries. Therefore, we seek to provide 200 goats to 200 children to ensure that these children‘s school fees won’t ever be a burden in the future.

With that project, our expectation is to eliminate the dependency of the child to the Organization while promoting the economic independence. Within the first year, the goat will multiply and the parent can sell a baby goat to pay the school tuition fees for the child.
